Application

UW Groutis recommended for:

  • Grouting of bridge columns, concrete pilings, and dam repairs.
  • Applications where a resistant, free-flowing, or pumpable non-shrink grout is required, especially in underwater settings.

Preparation and Application

  • Surface Preparation:The substrate must be clean and sound, with all loose material removed. Use sandblasting or high-pressure water jetting for surfaces permanently immersed in water.
  • Mixing:Use 7 to 7.5 pints of water per 50 lb bag to achieve a flowable consistency. Mix with a mechanically powered grout mixer and ensure continuous operation to prevent setting delays.
  • Placing:UW Grout can be dry-packed, poured, or pumped. Utilize a flexible tube for placement to ensure even distribution and to minimize water entrapment.

Curing and Limitations

  • Submerged Applications:No curing is required for applications submerged in water.
  • Above-Water Applications:Cover with wet rags immediately after setting, followed by an ASTM C309-91 compliant curing compound.

Packaging

Available in 50 lb bags and 3000 lb super stacks.
