SpecShot is a single-component, high-performance shotcrete mortar formulated for demanding vertical and overhead concrete repair projects. It provides exceptional durability, low rebound, and low shrinkage, ensuring long-lasting repairs in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure settings, including Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) applications.
Designed for application via dry shotcrete (gunite) or wet mix methods, SpecShot delivers a strong bond to existing concrete, making it a reliable solution for restoring deteriorated structures. Its built-in corrosion inhibitor enhances durability, while its concrete-gray color ensures a seamless finish.
One-component formulation just add water
Low permeability enhances durability and resistance to moisture intrusion
Low rebound minimizes material waste during application
Low shrinkage reduces cracking and enhances longevity
Integral corrosion inhibitor protects against reinforcement corrosion
Designed for vertical and overhead repairs ideal for structural restoration
Concrete-gray color blends with existing concrete for a natural appearance
Ensure the concrete substrate is sound, clean, and free from oil, grease, dust, laitance, or other contaminants.
Best practice: Saw-cut the perimeter of the repair area and use abrasive blasting to achieve a uniform depth and high surface profile for optimal adhesion.
The surface should be saturated-surface-dry (SSD) with no standing water before application.
Mixing
Add potable water at a maximum rate of 10% (7.6 pints per 80 lb. bag).
Mix thoroughly using standard dry process shotcrete methods.
Placement
Apply in accordance with ACI 506-R05 “Guide to Shotcrete” for best results.
Recommended application depth: ½ inch to 6 inches per pass.
For repairs exceeding 6 inches, apply in multiple layers, cross-hatching the initial layer and allowing it to harden before applying additional layers.
Finishing & Curing
Finish the repair material to match the surrounding concrete texture.
Self-curing under most conditions; however, in extreme drying conditions, use an ASTM C309-compliant water-based curing compound.
Packaging
80 lb. bags yields approximately 0.62 cubic feet per bag
3,000 lb. bulk bags available upon request
Cured Unit Weight:135 lbs. per cubic foot
Shelf Life
Shelf life: 12 months in unopened bags, stored in a dry facility.
Avoid exposure to excessive temperature fluctuations and high humidity, which may shorten shelf life.
Store in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight.
Uses
Bridge and tunnel repairs
Parking structure restoration
Industrial facility maintenance
D.O.T. infrastructure rehabilitation
