Application

Preparation

  • Ensure all surfaces are clean, oil-free, and roughened to enhance bonding.
  • Metal in contact with the grout must be free of rust and contaminants.
  • Substrate should be saturated surface dry (SSD) before grouting, with no excess water.

Mixing

  • Mix in two phases to achieve desired consistency, starting with 2/3 of the water before adding the grout.
  • Add the remaining water after partial mixing.
  • Mix for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, ensuring no more than 30 minutes elapse before placement.

Placing

  • Ensure continuous, quick placement from one side to avoid air entrapment.
  • Maintain a minimum of 1-inch vertical clearance for base plate grouting.

Curing

  • Cover immediately with clean, wet rags and keep moist until final set.
  • Afterward, apply an ASTM-C-309 compliant curing compound like SpecChem Cure & Seal 25.
