SC Metallic Grout is a metallic, cement-based grout. Non-shrink Metallic Grout SC METALLIC GROUT is a robust, metallic, cement-based grout, designed for heavy industrial use in environments like steel mill production facilities. It handles dynamic and repetitive loading exceptionally well.
Best For
Heavy equipment base plates
Machine bases
Column bases and anchor bolts
Industrial grouting where metallic aggregate is specified
Key Features
Metallic grout system
Designed for load-bearing grouting
Used for equipment and base plate support
Material & Application Notes
Metal contact surfaces should be free of rust, oil, grease, and contaminants. Concrete must be sound and roughened; SSD preparation is recommended before placement.
Why Contractors Choose It
Contractors choose SC Metallic Grout when the specification calls for a metallic grout with strong bearing support under industrial equipment or base plates.
Ensure all surfaces are clean, oil-free, and roughened to enhance bonding.
Metal in contact with the grout must be free of rust and contaminants.
Substrate should be saturated surface dry (SSD) before grouting, with no excess water.
Mixing
Mix in two phases to achieve desired consistency, starting with 2/3 of the water before adding the grout.
Add the remaining water after partial mixing.
Mix for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, ensuring no more than 30 minutes elapse before placement.
Placing
Ensure continuous, quick placement from one side to avoid air entrapment.
Maintain a minimum of 1-inch vertical clearance for base plate grouting.
Curing
Cover immediately with clean, wet rags and keep moist until final set.
Afterward, apply an ASTM-C-309 compliant curing compound like SpecChem Cure & Seal 25.
Packaging
Available in 50 lb bags.
Shelf Life
One year from the date of manufacture when stored properly in a cool, dry interior area away from moisture.
Uses
SC METALLIC GROUT is recommended for grouting heavy equipment bases, structural columns, pump and equipment bases, crane rails, bearing plates, and other applications exposed to dynamic loads.
