Application

Surface Preparation

The existing substrate must be mechanically abraded to remove all unsound concrete, ensuring it is structurally sound and free from contaminants such as laitance, grease, oil, or dirt for optimal bonding.

Mixing and Application Guidelines

  • Mixing:Agitate well before use.
  • Application:Apply a uniform coating of undiluted PlasterBond at a rate of 250 sq-ft per gallon using a brush, roller, or sprayer. Ensure it forms a continuous film over the area to be bonded. The treated surface should remain slightly tacky when dry.
  • Drying Time:Typically 20-30 minutes at 70°F, though this may vary with ventilation.
  • Reapplication:Porous surfaces may require a second coat after 12 hours if a continuous film is not achieved.

Application Rate and Conditions

Apply PlasterBond up to 24 hours before installing plaster or stucco toppings. Traffic on treated areas should be minimized until the topping is applied.

Packaging

Available in 55 gallon drums, 5 gallon pails, and 1 gallon jugs (sold in cases of four).

Shelf Life

Store in a cool, dry place. When stored properly in its original tightly closed container, PlasterBond has a shelf life of 1 year. Protect from freezing.
