SpecChem Final Finish

SpecChem Final Finish

Rapid-Hardening, Polymer-Modified Concrete Resurfacer

Final Finish is a one-component, rapid-hardening, polymer-modified, concrete resurfacing mortar, designed for smoothing, resurfacing, rubbing, and restoring concrete surfaces. This product combines a long pot life with rapid hardening to minimize waste and labor. It contains no crystalline silica, making it ideal for ultra-fine repairs. Final Finish is highly durable and suitable for all interior and exterior applications on horizontal, vertical, and overhead surfaces. It can also serve as a skim patch or trowel-down underlayment for light traffic areas up to 1/4 inch.

Application

Surface Preparation

  • Clean the Surface:Ensure the concrete is free from oil, grease, dust, laitance, or other contaminants.
  • Pre-Dampening:For porous or hot/dry substrates, pre-dampen the surface to a saturated-surface-dry (SSD) condition with no standing water.

Mixing and Application

  • Mixing Instructions:Final Finish may be mixed by hand or with a low-speed drill. Add approximately 16 pints (2.0 gallons) of water per 40 lb pail (around 41% by weight). Mix for 23 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp rag to extend pot life up to 3 hours at 72°F. Avoid overmixing or retempering.
  • Application Trowel or Sponge Float:Apply with pressure to fill cracks, voids, and honeycombs. For applications thicker than 1/4”, use Overcrete.
  • Application Wall Surfaces:Fill low areas with SpecPatch or Overcrete. Apply a thin, uniform coat of Final Finish with a trowel or sponge float. A second coat may be applied before full cure if necessary. Avoid extreme weather conditions during application.

Curing Process

  • Cure Time:Final Finish cures fully in 24 hours.
  • Protection:Shield from rain or water exposure until fully cured.
