Key Features
- Corrosion Inhibitor Duo Patch is a two-component, polymer-modified concrete repair mortar, enriched with an integral corrosion inhibitor
- Corrosion inhibitor for added durability
- Concrete repair formulation
- Built for professional patching and restoration work
Material & Application Notes
It’s designed for a variety of applications including horizontal, form and pour, and vertical and overhead when mixed to a stiffer consistency. Can be used for interior and exterior overlay applications. Cures to a natural concrete gray color, blending seamlessly with existing structures.
Why Contractors Choose It
Contractors choose Duo Patch when the repair needs to hold up, finish cleanly, and fit the job condition without slowing down the crew.

Application
Surface Preparation
- Ensure Cleanliness:Concrete must be clean and free from oil, grease, dust, laitance, or other contaminants. Mechanically abrade to a minimum CSP 3 as per ICRI 310.2.
- Create Notched Edges:Saw cut a ¼” recess around the patch perimeter to form a thickened edge for added durability in high traffic or load areas.
- Moisture Condition:Surface must be SSD (saturated surface dry) with no standing water.
- Steel Reinforcement Cleaning:Clean all exposed reinforcing steel of rust and coat with SpecPrep SB.
- Priming:Apply SpecPrep SB to SSD concrete with a spray or brush.Apply repair mortar wet on wet or within the open time of the primer (refer to SpecPrep SB datasheet).Alternatively, apply a scrub coat of mixed mortar, placing the patch before it dries.
Mixing and Application
- Use 7.0 to 7.5 pints of Duo Patch Admix per 50 lb bag, adjusting for desired consistency.
- Use a low-speed drill to mix. Add powder gradually to liquid and mix for 23 minutes until homogeneous.
- For repairs ≤1” thick:Apply directly (do not exceed 7 pints admix if over ½” deep).
- For repairs >1” thick:Extend with up to 60% by weight (30 lbs) of clean, SSD ⅜” aggregate and mix 2 more minutes. Place within 1520 minutes.
Placement Procedure
- Place with trowel, screed, or pour, ensuring full contact with the substrate.
- Screed flush with surrounding surface for a smooth, level finish.
Finishing/Curing
- After initial set, hand trowel to match surrounding concrete texture.
- Use SpecChem IntraFilm as a finishing aid if needed.
- Duo Patch is typically self-curing; in harsh environments, apply a water-based curing compound (ASTM C309 compliant).
